Schedule a 1-on-1 private dj lesson with me now!

Who is this for?

Anyone! Do you love music? Have you ever thought about djing, whether just as a hobby, or even as a career? Well every passion starts with an interest. But often times we can brush off that interest because we don’t know where to start or how to go about pursuing it. My lessons are for all skill levels, from the person who doesn’t even know what a DJ does, to the professional who is already playing regularly for money but wants to take their craft to the next level. No experience necessary. Only thing that’s required is a PASSION for MUSIC!

What’s the goal?

DJ’ing as an art-form, and as a culture is important to me. Music, specifically Hip Hop, saved my life and gave me purpose. Since DJ’ing is one of the pillars of Hip Hop culture, I want to do my part to help keep it alive and pass on the traditions I have learned and wisdom I have gained over my career and life as a DJ. If you’re passionate about music like I am, then these sessions will hopefully give you the tools to enter one of the most important forms of musical and artistic expression. I love teaching and passing on knowledge so I’m excited to help start (or continue and improve) someone’s journey into the world of DJ’ing!

Who’s your instructor?

Do i need dj equipment?

I will be providing you with drills and techniques to practice on your own time, so an investment in some DJ equipment is highly recommended to get the most out of your sessions, but not required. (If you have questions on recommendations for what equipment to start out with, I can help you out with that)

What will I be learning?

Since each student’s skill level and needs may be different, I will be customizing the lesson plan and sessions to each specific student, so upon booking, I will ask that you fill out the Prospective Student Intake Form for me to get some information and be able to prepare for our sessions, so you can get the most value out of your session and so we can make sure we have the most efficient use of our time together.

Here are some of the things we can go over:

  • Basics of DJing (what a DJ is, what a DJ does, and why DJing is important)

  • Scratching (basic, intermediate, advanced)

  • Beatmatching and Mixing

  • Transitions and Routines (basic, intermediate, advanced)
